5X5 Rock: Double Bass Drum Book/CD - In this second "5x5 Rock" play-along book by Klaus Usmann, the focus is on the technique of playing two bass drums (double bass). This very special drum style has fascinated many drummers since its inception. Jazz musicians such as Louis Bellson or Buddy Rich became masters of the craft of playing two bass drums. Their skills inspired a whole generation of Rock drummers in the late 60s such as Ginger Baker (Cream) to copy their great Jazz heroes and rock music was greatly enriched by this innovative playing technique. Over the years, more and more drummers were attracted to his technique and their unique hammering beats created the foundation for fresh styles of Rock music. Examples are Mikkey Dee of Motorhead, Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Joey Jordison from the band Slipknot or Simon Phillips (TOTO).
