Piano Music by Women Composers This three-volume series of piano music by women composers is a progressive compendium of educational literature with a broad repertoire from the 17th century to the present day. For each piece, the editor has written short instructions with rehearsal tips as well as biographical notes on the women composers. The collection covers all levels of difficulty from easy (volume 1) to medium (volume 2) to difficult (volume 3) and is an indispensable addition to lessons and concerts. Women Composers — Book 1 There are 21 works in book 1 composed by female composers, and they are arranged over three levels: Elementary: Grades 1-2 Late Elementary: Grades 2-3 Early Intermediate: Grades 3-4 Each level might be considered broadly similar to the implied examination grades set by the various music exam boards in the UK. In this volume, a total of 7 pieces are housed within each level. Each piece is published alongside the composer biography and performance notes for an optional learning experience.
