Description
The music of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy is part of the solid and well-liked repertoire for many choirs ranging from the simple romantic folk song to the oratorio. Through his chorus, his music is known and popular. And yet Mendelssohn has hardly written for female choral music, although corresponding ensembles already play a part in his choral life in the 19th century.
For the present collection, Pascal Martiné has thus served the art handle of the editing. Mendelssohn's songs for two female voices and piano, which he extended to three women's voices, served as a model. The added voice is designed in such a way that the romantic voice is taken into account and Mendelssohn's respective sentence technique is logically extended.
