The serenade "A Little Night Music" in G major is one of the best known and most popular works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and one of the most popular works of "classical" music. Everything about the "Little Night Music" is simple, entertaining and actually not demanding. But precisely this effect is the result of the highest level of artistic understanding and greatest craftsmanship.
The Serenade "Night Musique", which Mozart composed in Vienna in 1782 for the Prince of Liechtenstein, is, like KV 375, one of the best-known works for wind octet. It combines the light serenade tone with artistic counterpoint teaching in an ingenious manner (for example in the canonical trio of the minuet).
