The romance of a melody instrument and piano was a very popular genre in nineteenth-century French salon music. Saint-Saens also wrote several such pieces for violin, cello and horn. His only flute flute was written in 1871, shortly after the founding of the Societe nationale de musique. In this new forum for piano and chamber music she was also premiered a year later. The Henle Urtext Edition is the first critical edition of this popular work in the classroom. Romance in D flat major Op. 37 Composer: Camille Saint-Saens Publisher: G.
