Description
Le Tombeau de Couperin was composed by Ravel in 1918 to honour the memory of his friends who died during the Great War. It was composed in the style of Couperin, in the wake of the rediscovery of the 18th century repertoire which began in the early 20th century. The historical performing notes in French and English, by Edmond Lemaitre, are based on the accounts of the famous pianists Marguerite Long and Vlado Perlemuter. - New engravings.
