Mein 1976 entstandenes Brahms-Bildnis ist ein einsatziges Klaviertrio von circa 12 Minuten Dauer. Es kann wenn man den Titel wichtig nimmt ein Portrait der Person Johannes Brahms' nicht seiner Musik darstellen und verweist im Duktus auf die Blutezeit des Klaviertrios im 19. Jahrhundert. Der Beginn - zunachst im Gestus eines Violinkonzerts - ist ein Zwiegesang zwischen Geige und Cello zu dem spater das Klavier hinzutritt. Eine im "groen Ton" zu spielende Stelle unisono fur Geige und Cello mit treibendem Klavier bricht unvermittelt in einen chaotischen Abschnitt um der schlielich das Klavier mit verzweifeltem Hammern in die extremste Lage treibt. Diese auerste Erregung wird zuruckgefuhrt in eine quasi-Reprise mit einem cantablen schmerzlichen Abgesang der relativ kurz ist und steil abfallt in einen unvermittelt abschlieenden stumpfen d-Moll-Akkord.
