COLE CLARK FL2EC BLACKWOOD / BLACKWOOD HUMBUCKER NOTE! Cole-Clark has just changed the pickup to a chrome cover, new image coming soon... The Fat Lady 2 acoustic electric guitars have all the great tone of the Fat lady 1's, but with nice body binding and pearl style snowflake inlays, This exciting model comes with a solid Blackwood top, solid Blackwood back and sides, Blackbean fingerboard and bridge, new 3 way pickup system, but with the addition of a Lollar Imperial humbucker in the bridge position. The humbucker is in a block and the knobs have a thicker top under them. This cannot be retrofitted in a current guitar. This was introduced, as many of Cole Clarks artists put in a sound hole pickup with a separate output to go to a distorted amp. They loop the clean sound and play over the top with a dirt sound. These sound hole pickups are not very good and they are in the wrong place to drive well. There is enough nickel core in the phosphor bronze strings to work well. There is no microphonic feedback and the general feedback is about what you would get from a hollow Gretsch. You can also move between the 2 separate sounds and combine them. All of our Cole Clarks have been PLEKed! PLEK machines are built and sold by A+D Gitarrentechnologie of Berlin, Germany. The machines were developed by musician and guitar instructor Gerd Anke with his partner Michael Dubach, who called their company PLEKTRON when it was founded in 1990. The goal of the PLEK process they created is to guarantee the best possible string action for each instrument. Simply put, a guitar with optimized playability sounds better. The strings do not strike the frets during playing and any intonation problems that may occur due to too-low string action are eliminated. Similarly, action that’s too high is also a thing of the past with PLEKing. The PLEKing process is done by CNC (computer numerical control) machines, which use microprocessors to perform their tasks. That doesn’t mean human craftspeople are excluded from this process. The PLEK machine is ultimately a tool to reduce variances between guitars, which allows Cole Clarks expert builders to do their jobs more efficiently.
