The 180 Variations (with Fugue) op. 35 composed in 1802 are best known by their nickname "Eroica Variations", as the theme is also used in the Finale of the Third Symphony. Together with the sister work Opus 34, this composition marks the breakthrough to character variation. It was not without pride that the composer emphasized to the publisher that both works were "edited in a completely new manner". The Eroica Variations are now available for the first time ever as a single edition. The music text of the Urtext edition with detailed preface and commentary section was created on the basis of the subsequent Critical Report of the Beethoven Complete Edition. The fingering comes from the esteemed hands of Ian Fountain. Eroica Variations Op. 35 Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven Publisher: G. Henle Verlag Instrument: Piano Format: Piano Solo Pages: 32
