Until the mid-20th century, all Treble guitar strings were made from gut, a material that had been used for thousands of years, combining good promptness of attack with excellent performance.

A fundamental aim of Aquila’s research has been to design a new synthetic product that possesses the same acoustic properties as gut, but without its typical defects, such as high cost, short lifetime, and high instability under moisture changes.

The Supernylgut has all the desirable qualities without the associated drawbacks. Its features include:

The Alabastro Basses, wound with high-quality silver-plated copper, consist of a Supernylgut multifilament core that ensures:
