With its four overlapping bands, the 512 gives you surgical sound-sculpting capability for fine tuning feedback-prone signals or for adding punch and presence to instruments and vocals. The 512 delivers the warm, organic, and detailed Midas sound that has been heard by millions of concert goers and on countless live albums. The Midas 512 operates across four fully parametric bands: Bass (20Hz to 400Hz); Lo Mid (100Hz to 2kHz); Hi Mid (400Hz to 8kHz); and Treble (1kHz to 20kHz). Gain (±15dB) and Frequency adjustments are executed via stacked dual-concentric controls — the center knob controls Gain and the outer ring, Frequency. Bass and Treble are shelving filters; pressing the Bell buttons changes the response to peaking. Sweetwater engineers appreciate the inclusion of Q controls on all four bands (inactive on Bass and Treble in shelving mode).
